Our Mission & Objectives: The mission of the WATA is:

  • To preserve and promote the rich Telugu culture and language among the expatriate Telugu people living in and around Warwickshire. We continue to propagate its literature, language & legacy through our community activities.
  • To provide Telugu people a regular opportunity to stay connected with their roots, even while helping them integrate and succeed much better with the multicultural British community by organizing, advancing, and promoting cultural, literary, educational, socio-economic, health, and community affairs of the Telugu speaking people. The basic motto is to provide a reliable platform for the Telugu people to count on and build healthy relations that nurtures growth and happiness in the community.
  • To foster education on all aspects of Indian culture, languages, scriptures, and literature, particularly – yoga & meditation among children and young adults, and to shed light on the glorious diversity and unity existing in India to all the people around the world. We aim at making this world a better place to live in by embracing our differences and similarities as mankind.
  • To bring in opportunities for the cultural exchange of different traditions, ideas, knowledge, and talents between people living in the UK, India, and the rest of the world where people of Telugu origin reside by establishing & developing relations with national and international organizations in the field of culture.
  • To empower Telugu youth by creating awareness of and promoting Telugu culture among them as their participation in culture helps them to develop thinking skills, builds self-esteem, and improves resilience, all of which enhance education outcomes and develop vibrant communities.
  • To foster social cohesion and inclusion by serving as a primary resource for all social, cultural, and humanitarian issues related to the Telugu community in the UK. We listen and stand as pillars of support to the sensible issues/causes and try to bring in community revitalization.
  • To help and support relevant causes and charities in the UK and in India that are done for local community benefit, cultural empowerment, and assistance for the needy ones. We unite and contribute to significant causes that stimulate kindness and love for mankind.
